Take Place: Contemporary Landscapes

September 23 - November 12, 2022

These large-scale, contemporary landscape paintings are composed to confront a variety of our shared environments and perspectives all together and at once. An assortment of spaces are brought together for the purpose of an immediate experience of place, and for comparison.

We experience our environment sequentially by immersion and over real time—temporally and causally. Moving through a collage of industrial, post-industrial, modern, and postmodern environments, we must work to resolve our understanding of landscape and nature within this episodic experience of place. These compositions are offered in order to visually explore and chronicle this complex dynamic.

Note: This exhibition finished hanging on November 12, 2022.
